We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payments professional to join the Payment & Card Services team. An experienced manager, you will have responsibility for ensuring that payment and transactional services for the Society are operationally fit for purpose as well as ensuring that the Society remains compliant with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks for electronic payments.

This is a key appointment to strengthen P&CS and, as a member of the management team, you will have a detailed working knowledge of the payments industry and scheme rules (PSR, FP, CHAPS, BACS and SWIFT). You will likely have experience of managing an operational business unit in a comparable FS setting, in addition to managing relationships with third party partners.

You will be a resourceful, self-motivated, well organised and detail-conscious individual who enjoys working as part of a team that prides itself on customer service. The job holder will understand the importance of collaborative working and be confident with managing workstreams across multiple stakeholders including Compliance, Operational Risk, Finance, Business Systems and Audit.

This will involve defining and managing delivery of payments related projects and business change initiatives, as well as providing regular updates on progress to executive management, internal and external stakeholders. Applicants must therefore have excellent communication and presentation skills, with a thorough understanding of Microsoft packages – PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel.

Although the role does not currently have any direct reports, the job holder will be expected to deputise for the Head of Payment & Card Services on occasion , accordingly you will have the gravitas, leadership qualities and confidence to deal with senior and executive management from across the Society.

The role will be based at Oakfield House, but will be required to travel occasionally between all CBS Head Office Sites in Coventry - Binley Business Park, Economic House and Customer Fulfilment Centre.
