They are currently seeking a Marketing Executive with Digital and Prepaid experience for a maternity leave cover role. 

PROFILE

We are seeking an individual of graduate calibre, a confident self-starter with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The successful person will be able to demonstrate quick rapport-building with clients; experience in below-the-line marketing techniques biased towards online/digital marketing within a B2B environment; excellent writing, creativity, research and problem solving skills and ideally a background in retail banking or financial services. Previous exposure to managing external clients & third party service providers would be highly desirable. 

The contract will initially be for a 6 months maternity cover period, with a potential 3-month extension.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the marketing strategy and propositions and deliver the annual marketing plans for the lifecycle of the product based on segmentation plans
  • Product marketing with a focus on in life product management (retention and growth)
  • Campaign management from briefing creative and copy through to production and implementation working with internal campaign management team
  • Ensure timely delivery of communications through online channels such as email and web banners, etc. and management of offline material

·         Report on and maintain good understanding of campaign performance, and make recommendations to improve

  • Upholding partner’s brand and messaging

·         Implementation and adherence to all defined customer and business rules to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines

·         Identify developments to current campaign processes to improve effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service

·         General marketing assistance required to market the PPS brand

·         Supporting the Sales and Relationship Managers to ensure a superior level of client commitment

 
REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to work across multiple teams in Product and Marketing and third party suppliers
  • Ability to work autonomously  – able to plan own work and track progress against a plan
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to use their initiative
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Data driven: will have to work with many different data sources and tools to report on campaigns and produce analysis
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment, have good communication skills
  • Passionate and innovative about problem-solving, with a dynamic and energetic style
  • Demonstrable experience with client relationships at all organisational levels

 

Desired:

 

·         University Graduate with significant marketing experience

·         Biased towards online/digital marketing, preferably within retail banking or financial services organisations

·         Knowledge of the Prepaid market would be an advantage

·         Previous exposure to managing external clients & third party service providers would be highly desirable

5th Annual Prepaid Awards Celebrates Innovation and Best Practice

On Thursday 11th October 2012, the Lancaster Hotel in London played host to the 5th Annual Prepaid Awards, celebrating innovation and best practice within the prepaid industry. Over 500 prepaid industry professionals saw winners being presented with awards in 17 different categories, which had been judged by an independent panel of prepaid experts from around the world.
A champagne reception launched the evening where guests networked with the industry's finest, followed by a fabulous dinner enabling sponsors and table hosts to entertain their clients. Guests were entertained by a spectacular laser light show that led into the Awards ceremony, expertly MC-ed by Simon Bucknall from The Heart of Connection. After the ceremony, guests partied to the live band, In The Groove, until the early hours.
The Awards ceremony commenced with a speech from David Hunter, CEO of event sponsor Ukash. On behalf of the judges, Robert Courtneidge explained the integrity of the judging process and how judges worked in isolation of one another so that no one was aware who had judged which category. In addition, no judge could have a vested interest in their assigned category, and results were kept secret until the sponsor announced the winner. Once the 57 finalists had been announced, sponsors of each category presented the winners with their awards, as follows.

O2 becomes latest company to launch a digital wallet

Hot on the heels of Barclay’s Pingit and Barclaycard’s Paytag, O2 has become the latest company in the UK to offer a digital wallet.



The product allows a number of functions, including:

·         Money Message – enabling  daily transfers of between £1 and £500 to any UK mobile phone number

·         Shopping via your mobile – A  barcode and search engine function compares the prices of millions of branded goods from more than 100 online retailers

·         Your phone as your wallet – O2 Wallet enables consumers to digitise their existing debit and credit cards making paying for goods or services via their mobile a reality. Customers can load money into their O2 Wallet account via one of their debit cards, by receiving a Money Message or with cash at more than 30,000 locations including O2 stores, PayPoint and epay retail outlets. O2 Wallet’s ‘transaction history’ will allow consumers to keep on top of their expenditure with text alerts when the account balance changes; a 30-day payment history on the app; and a 12-month history online

·         O2 Money Account Card – O2 Wallet offers both a physical and a virtual O2 Money Account Card. Both are based on a Visa prepaid account. Consumers can also apply for the physical O2 Money Visa Account Card, a contactless card  to pay for things on the high street or withdraw cash from ATMs available for use at more than 100,000 contactless payment points across the UK

James Le Brocq, Managing Director at O2 Money, said O2 believes that the new product “will transform the way people manage their finances and spend money.”

But in reality, how long will this “transformation” take ? And who is the demographic it will appeal to the most? How long before it trickles down to the late adopters?   

Additional functionality will soon enable consumers to use O2 Wallet to top-up mobile airtime, and buy train tickets.

O2 Wallet is compatible with the majority of smartphones as well as iPads. Even those without a smartphone can use various features of O2 Wallet – for example Money Messages – providing they have web browsing capability on their handsets.

It will be interesting to see the take up of the O2 Wallet. The proportion of people using mobile banking increased from 9.7% in 2010 to 20.4% in 2011. It is predicted that shopping on mobile devices is set to increase by 53% in the next 12 months hitting £4.5bn and making Brits the biggest mobile shoppers in Europe.

Our e-payments platform is deployed to deliver specific product propositions in particular market sectors.  Examples include:

-          Our “my Travel Cash” (www.mytravelcash.com) currency card product – recommended recently by “Which?”, the consumer association, as an excellent all-round prepaid card for use abroad.

-          Our “Corporate Expense” (www.corporateexpense.com) product which provides petty cash, allowance disbursement and expense management services to our corporate clients.

Job Description: 

The role will be at the heart of the development of our business and products.  You’ll work with internal teams as well as clients to identify and document their requirements, and work with the development team as well as external suppliers to deliver products to meet those requirements.

You will be adept at working within a small, close team environment, which includes leading a variety of activities and projects, as well as being able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. 

You will be able to work independently with and quickly plan projects and take on responsibility for delivery against those plans.  You’ll also be flexible to help other and assist in activities which may not fit directly in to your role but all form part of being in a small business and working together to achieve rapid growth.



Responsibilities:

        Understanding the prepaid cards market and different segments with it

        Understanding the operational processes across the business which apply to different products we offer, what drives those activities and how they can be further leveraged

        Understanding the proprietary technology platform which has been developed in-house, and at a high level how it can be used and developed to achieve new functional aims

        Ensuring successful delivery of projects from initial scoping to full live delivery

        Driving product development by working with sales and product teams to define new functionality, and working with the in-house development team to deliver that

        Some support of sales activities, including definition of the proposition and financial analysis

        Some financial modelling and forecasting of future sales and activity for a particular product or client



Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

        Bachelor level or equivalent degree at 2.1 or equivalent from a top-tier university.

        Minimum of 3 years of experience at a top-tier professional services firm or within the payments industry.

        Demonstrable experience of client facing activities.

        Strong project management experience and knowledge of project management approaches/frameworks.

        Bright, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial, with a positive can-do attitude and a real desire to operate at the centre of a new and high growth business.

        An ability to grasp new technologies, in addition to demonstrated interest in our business.

        An excellent working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and Excel

        Must be eligible to work in the EU.



Preferred Qualifications & Qualities:

        Knowledge of cards and payments industry, and the prepaid industry in particular.

        Prince 2/PMI qualification or similar.

        Organized with strong time management skills; able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

        Detail oriented, able to get to grips with the intricacies and complexities of the prepaid market and the economics which drive the business.

        Self-starter; able to define own priorities and deliver projects.

        Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to take on new tasks, break down challenges and resolve problems.

        Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

        Able to work effectively with senior level stakeholders, both internal and external to the business.

        Strong commercial acumen and financial modelling skills



Salary details: £35,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
