Wirecard Bank, Lekkerland expand strategic partnership

In Germany, Wirecard Bank, a Wirecard Group company, has expanded its strategic partnership with Lekkerland Deutschland, a convenience goods supplier, for prepaid products and online payment processing.
As part of the agreement, the companies have developed a new payment method for the German market in collaboration with EZV Gesellschaft für Zahlungssysteme, a payment service provider. The newly created method, dubbed BarPay, enables cash payments for products ordered online. Via BarPay, customers will be able to order goods or services on the internet and to pay for these in cash through 18,000 petrol stations, shops and kiosks in the Lekkerland network in Germany.
BarPay is aimed at consumers who do not have access to credit cards or who are reluctant in using other payment methods such as prepaid cards.
Lekkerland Deutschland supplies almost 130,700 filling station shops, corner shops, convenience stores, fast-food chains, specialty tobacco shops, specialty beverage retailers and department stores.
Wirecard Bank offers private, corporate and e-banking services. The core business of Wirecard Bank includes corporate and currency accounts, as well as the issue of charge cards within the scope of co-branding and customer retention projects.
